Director, Professional Services
Role Summary
The Director oversees every aspect of professional services delivery within their client portfolio. This includes managing forecasting, staffing, financial results, project delivery, and customer satisfaction to achieve important metrics such as revenue, margin, utilization, quality, and client retention.
In this leadership role, the Director is responsible for coaching and developing a skilled team of professionals. The position encourages a culture focused on accountability and ongoing improvement, while also advancing talent development and succession strategies. As the delivery leader, the Director supervises strategic accounts, cultivates relationships with government leaders, and addresses escalations promptly to safeguard customer outcomes.
Additionally, the role requires monitoring project status and resource availability, effectively allocating team members, and ensuring reliable forecasting and reporting to support both service delivery and broader business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Ownership
Direct all aspects of service delivery within your assigned portfolio, encompassing forecasting, resource allocation, implementation, financial oversight, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the entire process.
Attain critical performance indicators including revenue, profit margin, resource utilization, service delivery quality, and customer retention.
Successfully oversee a diverse portfolio of government engagements each presenting unique scopes and complexities.
Operational & Financial Management
Ensure revenue, staffing levels, and performance metrics are forecasted and reported with accuracy.
Maintain full visibility into project status and resource allocation across portfolio and proactively assess trade-offs to align with delivery and business objectives.
Optimize team deployment to fulfill demand while efficiently managing profit margins and backlog conversion.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
Lead the recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, and development of a high-performing team.
Foster a workplace culture that prioritizes accountability, ongoing enhancement, and opportunities for professional growth.
Customer Engagement & Executive Oversight
Serve as the delivery leader for assigned portfolio, offering oversight for strategic accounts and projects.
Respond proactively to escalated matters to ensure customer success and achieve targeted business outcomes.
Build and sustain trusted partnerships with government executives to align objectives, define appropriate delivery strategies, and manage risk effectively.
Sales Partnership
Work in close partnership with the Sales team to ensure clients receive an integrated customer experience from pre-sales through implementation.
Offer delivery expertise for proposals, estimates, and implementation strategies.
Proactively identify and pursue opportunities to expand services within existing accounts by employing a consultative approach.
Qualifications
6 years of experience within professional services, including more than 3 years in a leadership capacity overseeing a portfolio of public sector projects.
Proven track record of managing implementation projects within the public sector.
Demonstrates robust financial and operational expertise, with a proven track record of managing revenue and margin objectives.
Comprehensive knowledge of the requirements of state and local governments, procurement procedures, and stakeholder relations.
Travel flexibility up to 25%; U.S. work authorization required.
